I’ve been using it for quite a while but I just must say something about Google Reader [GR]. As part of their plan for world dominance, Google’s GR checks sites for new content and convenient lists them all in one area for you to read. If you have an account with Google, you can set up GR and then subscribe to various websites’ RSS feeds and have them all appear in GR. It’s so convenient because now I don’t have to go visiting all the sites for new content. I also don’t have instances where I read things twice because if I’ve read it on GR, I mark it “Read” and it knows. More and more sites are having RSS feeds and whenever I visit a site I like and it has RSS capabilities, I just subscribe and I can have it on GR. It’s like a newspaper; every morning, the first thing I check is GR for new stuff and it’s all neatly compiled there for me, waiting to be read. I don’t even have to be at my home computer; as long as I can log into my Google account, I can check GR. And if I don’t have time to read it, I can mark multiple posts “As Read” and it disappears from the list. If there’s a particular article I like, I can “Star” it and save it for future reference. It’s really quite a gem, GR is. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I believe there have been several new items since I last checked GR.
